Two ways to reduce a photograph

The difference is not a style setting. It decides what the shapes on your page are, and it is the only choice that really changes the result.

Shapes taken from the picture

Contour Painting follows what is actually in the photograph. A fold in a sleeve or a branch across leaves gets a shape of its own instead of disappearing into a larger one, so the line you trace and the area you fill are the same line. This is the one to use when you want the page to look drawn.

Shape Colouring puts a repeating grid of squares, hexagons or triangles across the same photograph. Every cell takes the average colour of the area it covers, so nobody ends up with one enormous sky and forty specks. It is steadier to work from and it reads as a worksheet, which is why it suits a classroom.

Free, with five photographs a week

Every feature is included at no cost, and five photo credits arrive each Monday. One credit unlocks one photograph, and everything you make from it afterwards is covered by that unlock, in every export format. Credit packs start at 2.99 euro for the weeks when five is not enough. Nothing renews and nothing subscribes you to anything.

The photograph never gets uploaded

There is no endpoint that accepts one. Decoding, cropping, colour analysis, segmentation and export all run in memory in your own browser, so the file, its name and its location data have nowhere to go. Ordering a printed canvas is the single exception, and even then what the browser sends is the print file and the guide it drew, never the photograph they came from.

Your photograph is processed in your browser and is never uploaded. The only artwork that ever leaves this device is the print file and the painting guide for a canvas you order, and the photograph is no part of either.
