An outline page, not a filter
A photo filter finds edges and draws every one it can see, which gives a page too dense to colour and full of lines that stop halfway. Pacyra works the other way round. It divides the picture into regions first and then draws the boundaries between them, so every line closes and every enclosed area is something you can fill.
That is the difference that matters for a child with a felt tip, and for anyone printing a page to hand out. There are no open shapes to leak out of and no marks that belong to nothing.
Setting the difficulty
Detail decides how many regions the picture is divided into, and it is the only control most people need. Turn it down for large simple shapes suitable for young children or for a group activity. Turn it up for something a confident colourist will stay with for an hour.
Line weight and page size are set separately, and the readability check warns you when a region has become too small to be worth printing at the size you chose. A page that looks right on screen and turns to grey mush on A4 is the failure that check exists to prevent.
- A4 and US Letter layouts, at real physical sizes.
- Squares, hexagons and true triangular tilings, or contour shapes taken from the picture.
- Numbers on or off, and a colour answer sheet when you want one.
- PDF for printing, SVG when you need to change the lines yourself.
Printing it
Export as PDF and the page comes out at the size it says, on the paper you chose, with the margins a home printer needs. The SVG export is there for the cases where you want to change the line weight in another program or send it to a cutter.
For anything larger than a sheet of paper, the projector view throws the guide onto a real surface and lines it up with four corners you place by hand, with a scale bar to check against before you draw anything.
Your own picture, kept to yourself
The photograph is decoded and analysed in your browser and is never uploaded, which is the part that matters when the picture is of somebody's family, a pupil or a client.
You remain responsible for having permission to use whatever you open. Pacyra does not publish the image, does not train anything on it and never sees it.
